Different Types Of Cancers And Their Treatments

According to the American Cancer Society, an estimated number of new cancer cases and deaths in 2019 is 1,762,450 new cancer cases and 606,880 cancer deaths, only in the United States.

In the United Kingdom, the cancer foundation UK shows us that 475,801 females have been a victim of breast cancer in 2015 only, while 325,777 became the victim of prostate cancer. With such a growing number of the victims of a fatal disease like cancer, it is important for an ordinary man to have firsthand knowledge and awareness telling him how to handle it.

Following are commonly occurring types of cancer.

Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL)

It’s a type of cancer in which the bone marrow makes too many immature lymphocytes (a type of white blood cell), according to cancer foundation UK, 47,891 people got ill by leukemia in 2015.

  • Bladder Cancers

 The bladder is a hollow and flexible pouch in your pelvis. Its main job is to store urine before it leaves the body. Bladder cancer occurs just like other cancers. When a group of the cell starts growing abnormally eventually making growing rapidly fast. It is highly treatable using options such as surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation.

  • Brain Tumors

The central nervous system tumors can be benign or malignant. There are several ways that would be mentioned below through which Brain Tumors are treated. When reached their final stage, brain tumors turn out be the most fatal of the cancers but if they are discovered in an early age successful treatment is possible.

  • Breast Cancers

Perhaps the second most common kind of cancer I woman after skin cancer. Mammograms can be used to detect breast cancer early possible before it hasn’t even started to spread yet.

  • Stomach or gastric cancers

It occurs when cancer cells form in the lining of the stomach. Risk factors include smoking, infections and certain inherited conditions.

TREATMENTS

  1. Chemotherapy

Perhaps the most common treatment that comes into our mind after listening to the word “cancer”. This aims to kill cancerous cells with medications that target rapidly growing cells, the drug can also help shrink tumors but with drastic side effects.

  • Immunotherapy

It uses medications and other treatments with the aim of boosting the immune system and helps grow white blood cells to fight cancerous cells. The two possible treatments in immunotherapy are inhibitors and adoptive cell transfer.

  •  Radiation therapy

Uses high-dose radiation to kill cancerous cells and a doctor might recommend using radiation to shrink the tumor.

  • Stem Cell

It is especially beneficial with people having cancer in the blood such as leukemia and lymphoma.

  • Surgery

It’s a part of a treatment plan when usually the patient has a tumor and a doctor might remove lymph nodes to reduce or prevent the disease.

These were the most commonly occurring types of cancer and their possible treatments. As a patient of cancer, one should not feel hopeless as there are a lot of examples of people who have gone through the same thing or maybe even worst. So, keep your chin high follow the diets and live life as you did regularly. It will affect you as much as you think about.
